Your group will interview a civilian witness, using previously gathered evidence to uncover the crucial information that could solve the case.

The focus is on precision and strategy. You’ll refine your questioning techniques, practise both open and closed formats, and manage conversations under pressure. By reading verbal and non-verbal cues, you’ll build rapport and gather accurate details. With other teams chasing their own leads, you’ll adapt quickly, stay focused, and manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Resilience – Adjust approaches instantly when faced with unexpected developments.

Workshop #4: Suspect Interview

The Suspect Interview delivers a high-pressure, immersive team building challenge that pushes both investigative ability and adaptability to their limits. Like in the Witness Interview, the exercise begins with questioning an individual to uncover vital details. However, when that person is identified as a suspect, the entire dynamic changes. They must be cautioned, taken into custody, and may choose to remain silent.

The scenario demands quick thinking, controlled communication, and adherence to strict legal and ethical protocols. It goes far beyond simple questioning, requiring participants to remain composed, articulate ideas clearly, and adjust strategies on the spot to handle shifting circumstances.

Key Outcomes for Your Team

  • Conversation management – Direct and maintain discussions productively, even in tense or evolving situations.
  • Resilience – Stay calm and focused when met with pushback or obstacles.
  • Strengths profiling – Recognise and apply the unique abilities of each participant during high-stress moments.
  • Ethical and moral frames – Achieve objectives while upholding professionalism and integrity.
  • Efficacy of objectives – Keep the group aligned on clear, measurable targets.

Suspect Interview is a demanding and rewarding team building workshop that enhances decision-making, improving communication, and building the confidence to excel under pressure.

Workshop #5: Empathy & Responsibility

Empathy & Responsibility moves beyond basic profiling, using engaging team building exercises to develop self-awareness, authentic connection, and the ability to understand others in high-pressure situations. A profile might provide a broad outline, but deeper insight comes from recognising personal thought patterns and applying that knowledge to respond with purpose and clarity when challenges arise.

Through interactive scenarios and reflective activities, participants discover how empathy and accountability influence decision-making, communication, and teamwork. This session enhances professional capabilities while fostering a workplace culture built on mutual respect and trust.

Key Outcomes for Your Team

  • Strengths – Identify and leverage both individual and group abilities for improved results.
  • Resilience – Remain composed, constructive, and solution-focused when demands are high.
  • Profiling – Gain a deeper understanding of behaviours and motivations to refine responses.

The Empathy & Responsibility team building workshop equips teams to collaborate with greater awareness, strengthen connections, and form enduring workplace relationships. It is a transformative experience that engages participants and inspires lasting improvements in how they work together.

Workshop #6: Domestic Violence

Addressing one of the most sensitive areas of criminal investigation, the Domestic Violence workshop offers a thoughtful and impactful approach to skill-building. Perfect for organisations seeking meaningful team building Wollongong experiences, this session examines the domestic violence charter of victim rights, revealing the complexities of such cases and the significance of recognising every role and responsibility involved.

Participants quickly see that the weight of responsibility is shared, not carried by one person alone. The emphasis is on operating within clear boundaries while demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and focus. Through guided group exercises, your team will strengthen resilience, enhance psychosocial awareness, and refine their ability to produce accurate, unbiased reports.

Key Outcomes for Your Team

  • Resilience – Build emotional strength and adaptability in challenging or sensitive situations.
  • Code of Practice (Psychosocial) – Apply best practices to support others while maintaining professional standards.
  • Factual reporting – Deliver information with clarity, accuracy, and impartiality.

This team building workshop empowers teams with skills that extend far beyond the workplace, promoting understanding, precision, and confidence in high-pressure situations.

Workshop #7: Brief of Evidence

When every detail counts, the ability to separate fact from fiction becomes a decisive skill. The Brief of Evidence workshop challenges participants to strip away assumptions and opinions, leaving only the information that can be proven. It’s a focused, hands-on experience within our team building program that sharpens how teams assess, interpret, and present findings.

You’ll work through practical exercises that encourage objective thinking, teach the difference between observation and inference, and refine reporting skills so the end result is concise, credible, and ready to stand up under scrutiny.

Key Outcomes for Your Team

  • Minimise disputes and save time in legal processes – Present facts clearly to streamline proceedings with solicitors, clients, and tribunals.
  • Focus on what’s seen, not assumed – Build trust and accuracy in all communications.

Team Building Activities FAQs

  • Do you come to us to conduct the team building event?

Yes! We bring the team building activities straight to your workplace, corporate event, or conference venue in Wollongong. Whether it’s a small group or a large-scale corporate gathering, we make it simple for your team to take part without the need to travel.

  • What are transferable skills?

These are abilities developed in one environment that can be applied effectively in another. Skills such as problem-solving, clear communication, and critical thinking often emerge from our Wollongong team building activities and challenges, benefiting both professional and everyday situations.

  • What is experiential learning?

It’s an approach that puts participants directly into practical, hands-on scenarios, transforming theory into real-world application. Through active involvement in team building exercises and reflection on each challenge, promote team bonding, and expand their capabilities. This approach is highly effective for fostering teamwork, creating lasting connections, and making the learning more impactful.

  • How much space do I need for the team building activities?

We suggest a space about the size of half a basketball court or gym for optimal movement and participation during our team building activities. A double classroom with most of the partition removed can also work well. Setting up tables and chairs in groups of four helps create a collaborative and inspiring environment where teams navigate challenges together with ease.

  • What's the maximum number of people?

Our standard team building workshops work best with up to 40 adults, allowing everyone equal access to exhibits and the freedom to participate at their own pace without feeling crowded. For large-scale events, busy periods, or bookings at venues, we can expand capacity to host up to 120 participants.

  • Is there a minimum?

There’s no set minimum. However, as the investment is fixed, it’s worth inviting additional departments or teams to join in, experience how much fun it can be, and get the most value from your Wollongong team building session.

  • What is the ideal group size for the ultimate Wollongong team building event?

Around 40 participants is ideal for full engagement and interaction. For larger team building Wollongong events, we can run multiple crime scenes and bring in additional facilitators, making it possible to accommodate up to 120 people in one session.

  • Do you charge per participant?

We offer different investment options for our team building workshops. For smaller corporate groups, we can look at creative solutions, such as combining departments or inviting other teams, so you can enjoy the full experience of our Wollongong team building activities while maximising value.

  • When do you arrive?

Where possible, we set up the day before your team building event. On the day itself, setting up the crime scene typically takes about an hour and a half.

  • What is ‘conversation management’?

Conversation management is more than simple communication. Developed by Dr Eric Shepherd for law enforcement, it’s a structured approach that can be applied to investigative-style interviews and team building scenarios alike, helping discussions stay focused, productive, and aligned with specific goals.
